FAQ’S

Why choose a compounding pharmacy instead of a traditional retail pharmacy?

Traditional pharmacies dispense mass-produced medications in standard doses and formats, which may not work for every patient. A compounding pharmacy, like EmeraldRx, creates customized medications tailored to individual needs, based on your provider’s specific instructions.

Compounding may be the right choice when:

  • A patient needs a specific dose not commercially available
  • A medication must be made without allergens, dyes, or fillers
  • A patient requires an alternative form, like a cream instead of a capsule
  • A combination of medications is needed in a single, easy-to-use format
  • The medication has been discontinued by manufacturers

At Emerald Compounding Pharmacy, we work closely with providers to ensure each formulation is safe, effective, and aligned with the highest standards of personalized care.

Who do you serve? Can any provider partner with Emeralds?

We primarily serve licensed medical professionals and healthcare practices, including:

  • Dermatologists and aesthetic clinics
  • Functional and integrative medicine providers
  • Weight management programs
  • OB/GYNs and hormone therapy specialists
  • Wellness centers and Telehealth platforms

If you’re a licensed provider with a valid NPI number and state licensure, you can partner with EmeraldRx to access our full range of custom medications. We do not dispense directly to consumers without a valid prescription.

Are you a 503A or 503B compounding pharmacy?

Emerald Compounding Pharmacy is a 503A pharmacy, which means we compound medications based on individual, patient-specific prescriptions issued by licensed providers. This allows us to create personalized formulations tailored to each patient’s unique needs, enhancing treatment outcomes through precision and customization.

All of our preparations are made in compliance with applicable USP <795>, <797>, and <800> guidelines to ensure safety, consistency, and quality at every step.

What states do you serve? Are there any restrictions?

We are licensed in a majority of U.S. states and are continuously expanding our reach to better serve providers and patients nationwide. All prescriptions must comply with the specific regulations of the state in which they are prescribed and dispensed.

Note: Some medications may have additional state-specific requirements or availability restrictions.
